Intro to English Paper Piecing

Workshop Description:

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the timeless art of English Paper Piecing (EPP). This technique is perfect for creating intricate quilt designs with precision and portability. Whether you're new to quilting or looking to enhance your skills, this class will guide you through the basics while you create your own hexagon block.

You will learn the basics of EPP including how to cut and prepare fabric and paper templates. We'll talk about hand stitching techniques for assembling shapes and tips for fussy cutting and achieving perfect points.

We'll provide what you need but feel free to bring your own fabric if you have some favorites you'd like to use.

By the end of the class, you’ll have a beautiful hand-pieced hexagon block that you can incorporate into a larger quilt or use as a stand-alone project. Whether you’re here to learn something new or to take time for yourself, this class is designed to inspire and relax.  Slow stitch for the WIN!

Instructor:

We're very lucky to be having Jennifer Chon teaching this workshop. Jennifer is a modern quilter living in Los Angeles. She has been sewing and quilting for almost 20 years. You can find her work and patterns featured at Quilt Market and quilt magazines.  She makes modern quilts with modern fabric, but loves traditional quilts and handwork. "I love using traditional patterns as inspiration and giving them a modern spin. What I love most about quilting is the process. I have a deeper appreciation for it with every finished project."
